so i didn't get out to it much, but big ups to marcy on the playa for putting together the samba! i also made sure the capoeira ended with samba de roda...next year, more visibility, yeah?
meanwhile, who's in the bay area and wants to check out some samba nights? my feet are game.

Thu, September 8, 2005 - 4:11 PMYeah!
Thanks to everyone who danced... you all really got it! It was amazing to see how many Burners got SHY about trying out a Samba step...
Thanks to all who watched and smiled. And to all who rode into our camp speaking Portuguese... sorry our resident speaker arrived on Thursday!
Next year I swear we'll be better about location... but you know the land rush...
Perhaps a visit to the Favela Bar in SF is in order next month?
Until then, I'm burned out...
Love to everyone,

Re: otimo!
Thu, September 8, 2005 - 8:32 PMHi Jason. Don't think we met out there, but my drumming crew "The Loyd Family Players" NEARLY made it to Marcy's class to provide live percussion... next year I'll push them harder and try some tricks... like living nearer-by or maybe getting some art-cat help for drum/player transport.
As for the here and now, I'm kinda veering towards the "Nobody from Ipanema" show at Elbo Tuesday 9/20. I might have some out-of-town Brazil-fan friends that night. Consider making it a chance to meet samba-friendly burners, and solidify relations for future Burns!
Peace,
Sam
